In the early 19th century, Milwaukee was given the nickname "The Cream City" because of the cream colored brick commonly used in the construction of buildings throughout the developing city. This brick was made of local clay which turned a buff/yellow color when fired.
Although many of these buildings are still standing throughout the city they are masked in a patina of grey and black soot, a consequence of the coal smoke of the Industrial Revolution. The choice of our company name represents a tribute to the ordinary hard-working people who, with this simple common brick, brought our hometown into being.
